West Who Couple Wins Lottery
WWN - A West Who couple who wished to remain anonymous won $20,000 dollars in an American lottery. That amount equals $100,000 West Who dollars. The couple purchased two tickets in the Oregon State Lottery Raffel and had a winning ticket. "We couldn't believe it. We ckecked the ticket six times just to make sure."
The lucky couple redeemed the ticket with Oregon Lottery officials in the state capital, Salem. "We had to fill out some forms and wait about 45 minutes. Then they gave us a check for $13,000 US." The couple reported that the Americans took $7000 dollars in taxes. "We are really happy even if we had to pay the taxes."
While gambling is legal in West Who there is no national lottery. West Who does celebrate "Las Vegas Day" each February. Though a government official noted that there is a dark side to gambling. According to the 2006 Gross Annual Wager Report, Americans lost nearly $91 billion on all forms of gambling. The report said, Americans spent more on gambling than on recorded music, theme parks, video games, spectator sports and movie tickets combined. However, at least for one West Who couple their gambling adventure paid off.
